Celebrating Five Years of Collaboration and Partnership

Five Years post Katrina and Rita, we want to recognize the incredible collaboration and support of our partners.  Your tireless and unyielding commitment to your communities and those you serve is admirable and appreciated.  Thank you for your partnership and support.  We look forward to continuing this journey of recovery to build better and more resilient, prepared communities.

Rebuilding Homes, Rebuilding Lives

In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, non profit agencies in the Greater New Orleans area began working together and pooling resources to aid survivors who lost everything as a result of the 2005 hurricanes. Our organizational partners have contributed to the recovery nationwide as well as in the Greater New Orleans area. These include but are not limited to rebuilding and repairing homes, case management, advocacy, emotional and spiritual care, donations collection and distribution, preparedness and volunteer coordination.

Our Work

GNODRP works to provide spiritual, emotional and physical resources to those affected by disasters. We support the region's Long Term Recovery Committees that work to respond to un-met needs not satisfied by other sources.

Who We Are

Formed in November 2005, the Greater New Orleans Disaster Recovery Partnership (GNODRP) is a coalition of 70 plus member agencies including faith-based, non-profits, government liaisons and long term recovery organizations serving those impacted by the 2005 hurricanes in the Greater New Orleans region. Additionally, we are planning ways we can continue to support our community and be prepared for future disasters. Our preparedness arm is the Greater New Orleans Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (GNOVOAD) - www.gnovoad.org.  We are also an active member of the Louisiana Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (LA VOAD).

The Mission of the Greater New Orleans Disaster Recovery Partnership (GNODRP) is to regionally support long term recovery and preparedness.
