Long Term Recovery Organizations

The long-term recovery organizations consist primarily of representatives from local non-profit and faith based agencies providing service within each parish. The long term recovery organizations work to coordinate effort amongst its member agencies in addressing the unmet needs of families and individuals located within their respective parishes.

Each LTRO is the collaborative effort of a variety of national, state, and local agencies, including faith-based, non-profit, and grass roots organizations all striving together to rebuild lives of citizens of Jefferson Parish in the wakes of Hurricane Katrina and Rita.

Our long term recovery organizations work to:

  1. Maximize all available resources of its member organizations.
  2. Enhance community confidence in the recovery process by utilizing standard policies and procedures for addressing the unmet needs of families and individuals.
  3. Avoid duplicating assistance to individuals and families.
  4. Address parish specific recovery through committees.

The Mission of the Greater New Orleans Disaster Recovery Partnership (GNODRP) is to regionally support long term recovery and preparedness.
